I am very excited about being your teacher this year. There are just a few dates I would like to remind you of. First ,our Open House and Ice Cream Social will be September 2 from four o'clock until six o'clock. You are welcome to bring your suppies in at that time. Hope to see you there! 5th grade news This is where I will be letting you know what we are doing in my room. I will try to let you know about upcoming assignments as well as homework on a weekly basis. I would like you to keep in mind that sometimes things change. As a class we may need extra time on a subject , or schedule changes may occur causing us to not do an assignment on the day I have posted. So please be flexible with me. I promise I will do my best to keep you as up to date as possible. Some things that the fifth grade will be doing this year Reading: We will read many books this year. Some of them we will be doing reports or dioramas on. Math: Algorithms, Numberlines, Multiplication in various ways, Division, Polygons, Fractions, Averages, Decimals, Money, Perimeter and Area, Probability, and Graphing, Wordly Wise; Wordly Wise is a indepth vocabulary book. History; We will be learning about Early America up to the American Revolution. Maps This books helps us to read maps, globes and graphs. Science: I like to do many hands on activities to go along with what we are learning. Grammar : We will be doing many fun stories and diagramming sentences, as well as doing a lot with grammar conventions. Spelling: Each week we will have a spelling test and will do a variety of things with the words all week. |

Wordly Wise: This is an indepth vocabulary book. History: We will be learning about Early Civilizations, Western Hemisphere, Environment and Society, Types and purpose of Government, Different types of Economies.
